A new year is about to dawn. Many of us will likely look upon this new year hopefully. Our greatest hopes? That it will mark an end to hard times, especially the hard times still being seen in the housing market. Will that be the case?

Well, lacking a crystal ball or the ability to otherwise see into the future, it is impossible to tell how much better things will be — or, indeed, if they will get better.

That may sound fatalistic but, trust, there is no reason to take on a pessimistic point of view. The fact of the matter is that whatever happens with the state of the housing industry, there are still things you can do to make buying and selling real estate both easier and potentially more successful.
